The resumption of the first division fixtures in the UFL saw both Loyola Meralco Sparks FC and Kaya FC bounce back from their respective setbacks as they were able to win in their fixtures last Saturday.
Loyola returned to the top of the table after defeating Pasargad FC 1-0 in the first match of the first division.
Loyola, who drew against Air Force in their last fixture, missed the services of James Younghusband and David Cortina who were serving their suspension. In addition, Phil Younghusband was not fit heading to the match after recovering from a sickness a few days ago.
Despite settling for a scoreless first half, both sides were unable to break the deadlock following a number of chances for the teams until stoppage time as Mark Hartmann scored the winner in the 93rd minute to give Loyola the win.
The second game also proved to be eventful as this was the first match for new coach Kale Alvarez after Juan Cutillas resigned early this month.
Nate Burkey's long range effort in the 40th minute gave Kaya the win against Army, but they might miss defender Anton del Rosario after he broke his nose in the 27th minute.
The win gives Kaya on equal points with Global FC, but stuck at third place as Global has a superior goal difference.
