And it all came down to two teams left, Global FC and Kaya FC.
With only one more fixture ahead of them, both Global FC and Kaya FC will be depending on the results of the other to determine the first division champions of the United Football League.
Currently Global is on top with 41 points followed by Kaya with 39 points. Loyola Meralco Sparks were eliminated this weekend after claiming only four points in their last three fixtures coupled with Global's 4-0 rout over defending champions Philippine Air Force Phoenix.
Kaya FC will be facing Penson Stallion Gilligan's FC who they drew 1-1 in their meeting in the first round. Jomar Lestingio first scored for Stallions in the 14th minute but was cancelled out by Kross Ubiam in the 43rd minute to share the points.
A victory for Kaya against Stallion will require Global to at least grab a point against Loyola Meralco in the second match of the evening to claim the title.
Loyola Meralco won 4-3 against Global last February with Loyola skipper James Younghusband scoring twice in the match. Global had an equalizer in the match, but Izo Elhabbib's shot was ruled offside by the linesman.
Kick off for the Kaya v Stallion match is at 5:45pm while Global v Loyola Meralco is at 8:15pm.
