Global FC Victorious Over Green Archers

Misagh Bahadoran Celebrates Goal

Global FC returned to the top of the United Football League standings after seeing off Green Archers Globe 1-0 in Sunday's United Football League.

Misagh Bahadoran scored the solitary goal in the 59th minute, breaking through the right flank of the Archer defense, then shooting from an acute angle past goalkeeper Patrick Deyto to give Global the advantage.

Global continued their dominance after Bahadoran's opener however their chances, most notably Yu Hoshide's left footed shot from close range, were denied by Deyto who made a good showing in the posts despite conceding.

The win gave Global maximum points, leapfrogging both Loyola Meralco Sparks and Kaya FC at the top of the league table with 32 points. While Green Archers are stuck in 9th place with nine points.

In the earlier match, Jeremy Theuer scored a brace as Nomads Auction Manila disposed ten men Philippine Army Fritz and Macziol 4-1 after a second half comeback.

Army's Meliton Pelayo scored the opener in the 12th minute, but were down to ten men after goalkeeper Eduard Sacapaño was given his marching orders in the 44th minute after tackling down Toullec Loic outside the penalty area.

Steven Borrill began the comeback with a goal in the 47th minute before Chris Phillimore added a second to put Nomads in the lead. Theuer, coming on as a substitute, would then score his brace in the 84th and 88th minute to give Nomads the win.

Sunday's final fixture between Philippine Air Force Phoenix and Philippine Navy Redjuice was called off by the referee in the middle of the first half after the pitch was deemed unplayable after heavy rains prior to the match. Navy were leading 1-0 through a Jose Alfie Caminos goal. The match will be played at a later date to be decided by the officials.
