Dennis Cagara signs with Karlsruhe SC

Dennis Cagara for FSV Frankfurt vs 1860 Munich

Philippine International Dennis Cagara is clubless no more.

The 27-yr old defender of Filipino and Danish descent signed a 2-yr deal with 3. Bundesliga club Karlsruher SC (KSC), a team that finished 16th in the 2. Bundesliga season and lost in a playoff match against Jahn Regensburg (3-3 via the away goals rule), relegating them to the 3. Bundesliga.

In a statement, KSC head coach Markus Kauczinski noted Dennis' experience that he will be bringing into the team. He also noted that his speed and technical skills will be of great help to the club.

Dennis had been clubless since FSV Frankfurt declined on picking up the option to keep him with the 2. Bundesliga side for the upcoming season. Dennis had been a January signing with the team after then-Danish Superliga side Lyngby did not renew his contract on December last year. Lyngby has since been relegated after finishing 11th out of 12 teams, while FSV finished 13th out of 18. He made a combined 20 appearances for the past 11/12 season (15 for Lyngby, 5 for FSV Frankfurt).

The former Denmark Under-21 international recently participated in the friendlies against Indonesia and Guam and is anticipated to play a key role in the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup later this year.
