The resumption United Football League First Division saw both Green Archers United Globe and Loyola Meralco Sparks post convincing wins over their opponents last Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Archers, who were on 9th place, had some changes during the break and was able to reap its benefits as they steamrolled Philippine Army with a 7-2 scoreline.
Army's Romano Vestal grabbed the go ahead goal in the 5th minute, but the Archers bounced back which saw Alvin Gaspe and Reynald Villareal scoring within two minutes to give the Archers the 2-1 lead heading into half time.
The second half became a better story for the Archers as they scored five goals past Eduard Sacapaño's net courtesy of Gabriel Olowoyeye, Floriano Pasilan, Nikko Villa and a brace from Jesus Melliza. Army's Meliton Pelayo grabbed one back for a consolation, but this was Archers win as they climbed to seventh place ahead of Army and Air Force.
The second match of the first division action saw Loyola Meralco once again dealt another huge blow to Philippine Navy Redjuice with a 10-1 win. Striker Phil Younghusband bagged five goals in the match which also saw a Mark Hartmann and Park Min Ho, Alex Camara and Kim Hyo Il getting on the scoresheet as well. Rolly Perez gave Navy a consolation goal, but the win was Loyola's as they trimmed Kaya FC's lead at the top of the table with only a solitary point between the two sides.
In the second division, Pachanga FC's promotion to the first division is finally confirmed after a 4-0 win against Agila FC while Cebu Queen City United gave Forza a beating with an 8-2 win.
