Archers Escapes Navy; Pasargad Fights Back Army

After dealing Philippine Army a 7-2 drubbing last week, Green Archers United Globe had to settle for a 2-2 draw against a relegated Philippine Navy Redjuice last night at the University of Makati.

Navy, who started the game with only ten men in the lineup scored two quick goals in the first halfto surprise the Archers.

The first was an own goal after Ronnie Aguisanda attempted to clear a Navy cross, however the header sailed past Martin Villaflor's net to give Navy the shock lead in the 23rd minute.

Daniel Gonzales scored the second goal after he intercepted an Archers clearance in the 25th minute to give Navy their two-goal cushion.

Needing some changes, Archers coach Rodolfo Alicante replaced Alvin Gaspe with Jesus Melliza, who scored a brace in the win against Army last week, to have some firepower in attack.

Skipper Tating Pasilan put one back for the Archers in the 60th minute after heading home Arnie Pasinabo's cross from the left flank.

Despite only starting with ten men, Navy had to end the match with nine men on the pitch after goalscorer Gonzales was sent off in the 81st minute.

Needing an equalizer, Melliza became the hero for the Archers after scoring from short range in the 85th minute. Pasilan almost won it for the Archers, but his header just sailed wide in the 90th minute.

Archers now sit eight in the table with 14 points while Navy are set to ply their trade in the second division next season with 5 points.

In the second match, Pasargad FC came back from a 1-3 defecit at the half to win 6-3 against Philippine Army.

Army's Ricardo Becite strike on the 4th minute was cancelled out by Hamed Hajimahdi in the 10th minute before goals from Eduardo Gempisaw and Nestorio Margarse scored to give Army the lead.

Pasargad began the come back in the second half with Shayan Jafaridastjerdi scored in the 46th minute. Mohammed Ohadi equalize things in the 53rd minute. Jafaridastjerdi then added a second in the 86th minute to put Pasargad in the lead.

Ohadi then completed his hat trick with goals in the 88th and 89th minute to give Pasargad the 6-3 victory.

The victory gave Pasargad 5th place in the standings having played all their matches already while Army ends their season in 9th with 13 points.
